Come prepared!
We will start on time! Please make proper considerations when planning, travel time, and preparation for your horse.
Preparing your horse!
A lot of my riders will clean up their horses to be show ready before their session. I highly recommend excessively lunging your horse or a very heavy ride before getting your horse ready. We just never know what horse is showing up the day of our session and we want the calmest and most relaxed horse possible! It makes posing way easier and the entire experience less stressful for everyone involved.
Below is a list of recommendations for getting the best image possible:
- Entire body brushed and dirt free
- Completely dry
- Green spots removed
- Mane and forelock brushed straight
- Nose, mouth, and eyes wiped clean (bring a rag!)
- Nose and ears clipped
- Hooves painted
- Bridle wiped down and clean
- Bit shiny and clean
I highly recommend braiding your horse's mane for your session!
Other things to expect:
- Our session will rely on natural light and the use of your barn aisle. If your barn has barn doors on either side, we will be closing them to allow for a natural dark background. If not, no worries! The magic of Photoshop is on our side.
- Prior to our session, please take off the reins from your bridle. We will attach a lead rope to the bit & I will edit it out accordingly.
- Bring or have a rag to wipe down saliva during the session!
- Also, be prepared with treats!
